Taking a look into the history of the Yakima Fire Department

Yakima Fire Department has certainly fought plenty of historic fires in the past, but they've done a lot more than fight fires over the years. Reporter Haley Gibbs spoke to a firefighter who actually created a documentary to show new firefighters and the public just what they bring to the table. "It's a department that's over 125 years old, that's pretty, pretty impressive," said Alex Langbell, Training Captain for YFD.

If the other 911 center is busy, the caller gets a recording: Stay on the line until someone is available. That happened July 30 to four people who were reporting a mass shooting at a Mukilteo house party.

When she worked as a paramedic, Ginifer Wallace saw people call 911 for sore throats or mild cases of the flu. In those situations, responders usually have two choices: do nothing or take someone to the emergency room in an ambulance, racking up huge bills for the patient and their insurance company.
