The Department of Natural Resources tell KHQ on Wednesday that they have a 96 acre wildfire burning about 20 miles north of Davenport under control and expect to have the fire completely out by Saturday.
In the air and on the ground, local and federal crews fought the Flatland fire on a rugged hillside along the Spokane River.

Officials have identified the person who died in an Orchards area motor home fire Sunday as a 45-year-old man.
Lonnie Hagan died of smoke inhalation, ruled an accident, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office. The agency did not have his city of residence.
Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department responded to the blaze in the 6500 block of 121st Avenue at about 1:30 p.

On a cool Tuesday morning in late May, 20 members of the Entiat Hotshots wielded 25-pound chainsaws, tossed cut shrubs and small trees yards out of the way and chopped at the earth with Pulaskis.
