VIDEO: Yakima County firefighters spent the night battling two building fires. The first and largest occurred in the 400 block of Martin Road between Wapato and Toppenish. Fire crews say a large agriculture building was engulfed in flames. Due to the size help was called in from West Valley Fire, City of Yakima, and East Valley Fire.

Spokane voters will soon decide whether to renew a six-year tax levy to support emergency medical services. This year’s special election, April 26, seeks approval for a 2023-28 levy at 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed 2022 property value. The levy is expected to generate about $13.1 million for the 2023 fiscal year.

PHOTOS: One family is displaced after a fire broke out near north Jefferson street Tuesday evening. The Spokane Fire Department told KHQ on scene that the fire started in a makeshift home and then hopped a property line, causing significant damage to the house next door. Crews say nobody was injured and that somebody had recently been living in the makeshift home.
