VIDEO: The difference between a click and a call matters in a dispatch center, and before April 5, dispatchers at the Thornton Emergency Communication Center had to call other agencies to be able to dispatch them, instead of seeing in real time where they were, and clicking to send them.
"So it could take up to one to two to almost three minutes sometimes, depending," said Brandi Seaton, the Communications Center Supervisor.

The World Health Organization and the Biden administration are both saying that COVID-19 remains a public health emergency, even as global deaths from the virus have reached the lowest levels since March 2020.
Both the WHO and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services first declared COVID-19 a public health emergency in January 2020.

PHOTO: Firefighters are working to contain a fire that has engulfed a community club in Seabeck on Wednesday night.
Crews were called to 24283 NW Seabeck Holly Road.
When crews with Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene, they said the Holly Community Club was fully involved. Firefighters have not said if anyone was hurt and have not determined what caused the fire.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service is implementing a 10-year Wildfire Crisis Strategy, focusing initial investment on ten landscapes, including the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Court documents reveal new details about a fire that threatened homes in Spokane earlier this month, including the likely cause.
Homes near West Sunset Highway and South Grove Road were forced to evacuate on April 8, as winds pushed the fire dangerously close. Firefighters reported winds were blowing at 30 miles per hour at the time.
