Senate Bill Would Benefit Jackson (MS) Fire Department’s Station Hopes

A new Senate bill could give the Jackson (MS) Fire Department a portion of the funds it needs to build a new station on North State Street, reports wlbt.com.

S.B. 2060 aims to appropriate $2 million to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, which would allow for contraction with the department to provide fire protection, according to the report.

The funds would be awarded to the medical center by the state and would be awarded to the fire department as a one-time payment, the report notes.
