Follow Up: Puyallup Releases Footage From Cold Storage Facility Fire

The City of Puyallup and East Pierce Interlocal Coalition Emergency Management have released more footage from the cold storage facility fire that forced a major evacuation in downtown last fall. Kirkland’s Fire Station 24 responds to first calls from new location

Located off NE 132nd Street, Kirkland’s new Fire Station 24 responded to its first call on Jan. 5. Fire Station 24 officially opened on Dec. 16, 2021, with a ribbon cutting ceremony involving Kirkland City Council members. The purpose of this new facility is to reduce response times throughout the Finn Hill and Juanita neighborhoods.

Update: Investigators will review age, condition of water main that broke in Bellevue landslide

The City of Bellevue launched an investigation after a landslide caused an occupied house to slide off its foundation and collapse on Jan. 17. Officials said the investigation could take weeks or even months to determine the cause of the landslide. "Our focus right now is initiating an investigation on what happened with that slide, and there’s a number of different possibilities.

Former South King Fire Commissioner James Fossos dies at 75

Former South King Fire & Rescue Commissioner James Fossos has died, the fire department announced on Jan. 20. He died on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at age 75. “Fossos was truly a passionate man who loved his family, his country, the Marine Corps, and the fire service,” said Bill Gates, SKFR board chair. “We are thankful for all his years at South King Fire and Rescue and our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.

Floydale (SC) Fire Department Apparatus Stolen, Recovered

A Floydale (SC) Fire Department apparatus that was stolen on Tuesday was recovered.

Sheriff’s officials say the truck was taken from the department after 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

They found the truck on Wednesday but provided no details.
