A Burbank-area fire district will have to work with the funding it has to maintain current services because voters rejected the proposed property tax levy increase, according to final election results. The outcome of the ballot measure in Walla Walla County Fire District No. 5 was decided by just six votes.

The Puget Sound Fire Department battled a residential fire in the 26600 block of 216 Avenue South East Wednesday afternoon near Ravensdale. Once they arrived, the first responders said they noticed a fire on the second floor of the building. Firefighters extinguished the flames in about 40 minutes.

VIDEO: A Snohomish County home was destroyed Wednesday in a suspected gas explosion that’s being investigated by federal officials. Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue crews responded to the explosion near 197th Street Southeast and 25th Drive Southeast in North Creek, which is north of Bothell. The explosion was heard and felt a “long distance away,” according to the fire department.

Three people were killed and one hospitalized after a large explosion and fire at an auto shop in Hillsboro, officials say. A volunteer fire company opened up its drive-thru display of lights Friday - about a million of them, according to the company. WMAR-2 News got a full tour just before it opened.
