Voters reject additional funding for Burbank fire district in final election results

A Burbank-area fire district will have to work with the funding it has to maintain current services because voters rejected the proposed property tax levy increase, according to final election results. The outcome of the ballot measure in Walla Walla County Fire District No. 5 was decided by just six votes.

Cause of fire at home near Ravensdale under investigation

The Puget Sound Fire Department battled a residential fire in the 26600 block of 216 Avenue South East Wednesday afternoon near Ravensdale. Once they arrived, the first responders said they noticed a fire on the second floor of the building. Firefighters extinguished the flames in about 40 minutes.

Snohomish County home destroyed in suspected gas explosion

VIDEO: A Snohomish County home was destroyed Wednesday in a suspected gas explosion that’s being investigated by federal officials. Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue crews responded to the explosion near 197th Street Southeast and 25th Drive Southeast in North Creek, which is north of Bothell. The explosion was heard and felt a “long distance away,” according to the fire department.

VIDEO: 3 dead, 1 hospitalized in explosion, fire at Ohio auto shop

Three people were killed and one hospitalized after a large explosion and fire at an auto shop in Hillsboro, officials say. Drive-thru light display raises money for a volunteer fire department in Maryland

VIDEO: Let's set the record straight: it's the end of November, and it's definitely not too early for holiday lights. A volunteer fire company opened up its drive-thru display of lights Friday - about a million of them, according to the company. WMAR-2 News got a full tour just before it opened. "We have a little over a million lights throughout the carnival grounds up here," said Scott Warner, public information officer for the company.
