Mason Co. Sheriff: Woman is run over by her own car at gas station

A woman was mowed down by her own car Wednesday morning at a Belfair gas station, the Mason County Sheriff's Office reports. Deputies and medics responded to the scene, at a Chevron station along Highway 3, at about 8 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a car. A woman was found injured at the scene.

Crews look for seasonal fire volunteers

Firefighters across the Inland Northwest are trying to get ready for the summer of 2016 after two back to back record-breaking fire seasons. They said it is time to make important preparations, especially when it comes to their volunteer force. Fire districts across the Spokane area are putting the call out, hoping to get volunteers screened and trained in time for what could be a third severe fire season.
