House fire in West Central Spokane leaves 1 displaced and is deemed 'suspicious'

PHOTO: A fire broke out in the West Central neighborhood, leaving one resident displaced and is now under investigation as 'suspicious.' The Spokane Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of North Adams Street in the West Central neighborhood around 4 a.m. Tuesday to flames and smoke coming from a trailer.

Brush fire closes I-5 lanes in Federal Way

A brush fire that broke out on the right side of northbound I-5 in Federal Way caused multiple lane closures on Monday. Firefighters were able to put out the fire as they closed the right two lanes of northbound I-5 near the SeaTac Rest Area. A traffic camera captured crews extinguishing the fire, with the patch of grass between the SeaTac Rest Area and I-5 now completely charred.

Clark County Fire District 10 builds fire units, gains experience ahead of wildfire season

Clark County Fire District 10 saves costs on equipment and builds valuable wildland firefighting experience as the “not if, but when” Clark County wildfire looms this season without Larch inmate crews. Clark County passed the first test this summer season with zero major fires caused by Fourth of July fireworks, but, as of press time, the outcome from the heat wave was still unknown.

House fire displaces 2 in Spokane Valley

Two people were displaced after a fire in Spokane Valley destroyed a home overnight. Around 3:30 a.m., the Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire on the 900 block of North Bowman Road. They quickly evacuated the two residents who said they woke up to smoke detectors sounding.

VIDEO: Fire destroys building, kills two pets in South Carolina

A fire early Friday morning along the 200 block of North 12th Avenue in Dillon destroyed a two-story storage building, and shed, burned two vehicles and killed a dog and pet snake, according to Dillon Fire Chief Keith Bailey. Bailey said firefighters rescued a man from the burning building. He added the man went to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation, but is expected to recover.
