The town of Hilton Head Island (SC) will have to spend about $1.2 million more than it had anticipated to replace its aging apparatus fleet, reports islandpacket.com.
The town had originally planned to buy eight new pumpers and two new quints for about $6.2 million during fiscal year 2022, the report says. However, supply chain disruptions increased the price.
Town Council, though, has given staff members the green light to spend $7.4 million with Safe Industries on the project.
