The Fire Station Building Committee recently reviewed preliminary designs for the new Greenfield (MA) Fire Department station to be built on the Main Street property near the Coombs Avenue intersection, reports recorder.com.

In a virtual presentation, Pacheco Ross Architects officials showed the plans, which include administrative offices, apparatus bays, dormitories, a living space, as well as an entryway for the public with a vestibule for the station museum, the report says.

Spotsylvania (VA) County Looking for $32M for Various Fire Upgrades

A November 2 ballot for Spotsylvania (VA) County residents includes whether to borrow up to $400 million for various projects, including about $32 million for public safety, reports fredericksburg.com.

The $32.2 million would go toward a new logistics and training center, a new fire and rescue station, a replacement for another station, and replacement fire and rescue vehicles, the report says.

Even if voters approve the bond proposals, there’s no guarantee the county would use the funds, according to the report.

The logistics and training center, with a price tag of $3.1 million, would be an approximately 8,500-square-foot training building with classrooms, kitchen, a bunkroom, showers, locker rooms, and office space, the report says. It could also include a 5,000-square-foot, three-bay structure and a 5,000-square-foot logistics center.

New fire trucks, $14,673,772, and ambulances, $5,264,162, account for the largest portion of the funds. A new Massaponax station is almost $6.6 million, and another station project—replacing the Partlow station, which was built in the 1980s—accounts for $2.5 million.
