Ground Broken for New West Pulaski (AK) Fire Department Station

Ground was recently broken for a new fire station that will sit on the border of Pulaski (AK) and Saline counties, reports arkansasonline.com.

The new station, to be located at 3006 Brush Mountain Trail in West Pulaski County, will serve residents on both sides of the county divide. The facility, likely to be completed by 1Q22, will be the sixth for the volunteer West Pulaski Fire Department, officials say.

“We had a great day with the groundbreaking of our new fire station planned at 3006 Brush Mountain Trail,” the department wrote on its website. “Thank you to all our friends, neighbors, and honored guests for joining us.”

The report notes that the additional station will likely mean a dip in homeowner insurance costs for some, as premiums depend on the quality of the nearby fire service.

To help pay for the station, which officials estimate will cost around $125,000, the department will ask residents to donate the first year of savings they get from their insurance premiums.
