Firefighters extinguish large blaze at downtown Las Vegas warehouse

VIDEO: The Las Vegas Fire Department responded and put out a large fire at a vacant warehouse in downtown Las Vegas on Sunday night. The heavy smoke and fire were visible for miles as the two-story building at 1026 S. Main went up in flames shortly after 8 p.m. According to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, crews were able to contain the fire from spreading to other structures and extinguished the blaze in less than a half-hour.

Florida county fire rescue's newest fire engine celebrates 'Champa Bay' sports teams

VIDEO: Hillsborough County Fire Rescue's newest fire engine hit the streets this week, and it'll likely make you do a double-take. The "Champa Bay" fire truck is professionally wrapped with championship logos celebrating the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning, the Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the American League Champion Tampa Bay Rays.

Ohio city continues tradition of lighting candles for lives lost on September 11

This Sept. 11, Tallmadge Circle will once again be lit up with nearly 3,000 candles to represent the lives lost at the World Trade Centers, the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pa. on the 20th anniversary of the deadliest terrorist act in world history. Since 2003, the Tallmadge Fire Department, with help from local volunteers, have lit 343 red candles for the fire department personnel who died that day, 60 blue candles for police, 55 green candles for military and 2,518 white candles for civilians.

Louisiana fire chief riding bike to calls after Hurricane Ida damages bridges

There's a volunteer fire chief who is riding is bicycle to answer calls for help because the bridges in his town are out. In a post, the State Fire Marshal talked about what Lockport Fire Chief Armand Autin is doing to serve his Lafourche Parish town. "Because the bridges are out due to Ida, Chief Autin is driving his truck to the closest bridge, then riding his bicycle across the bayou to respond to incidents," the post says.
