A devastating seven-alarm fire in Paterson, New Jersey left families homeless and businesses destroyed Sunday morning. Residents said the fire at 195 Broadway started around midnight, but firefighters continued dousing the building with water well after the sun came up. A man tried to help himself to a fire department’s fuel supply last week. According to the Needham Community Fire Department, a pickup truck showed up at Station 81 (6822 E 350 N) at 5:13 a.m. on Thursday, May 30. The driver got out and tried to steal fuel from the fire station. “This individual decided to attempt to help himself to our mission critical fuel supply which we utilize for our fire trucks ensuring we can respond to your emergency when you need us,” the department wrote on Facebook.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire station in King County was hit by bullets Friday evening. King County Sherriff’s officials said they were dispatched to King County Fire District #45 around 10 p.m. Friday night. The fire station is on NE Cherry Valley Road, in an unincorporated area east of Duvall. Officials said they received a call around 2 a.m. about a large fire that broke out in the 3100 block of Northeast 145th Street.
