VIDEO: 7-alarm fire in New Jersey destroys over a dozen homes and businesses

A devastating seven-alarm fire in Paterson, New Jersey left families homeless and businesses destroyed Sunday morning. Residents said the fire at 195 Broadway started around midnight, but firefighters continued dousing the building with water well after the sun came up. Officials said the fire was severe and difficult to contain, and help was requested from several firefighting units across the area.

Man attempts to steal fuel from Indiana fire station

A man tried to help himself to a fire department’s fuel supply last week. According to the Needham Community Fire Department, a pickup truck showed up at Station 81 (6822 E 350 N) at 5:13 a.m. on Thursday, May 30. The driver got out and tried to steal fuel from the fire station. “This individual decided to attempt to help himself to our mission critical fuel supply which we utilize for our fire trucks ensuring we can respond to your emergency when you need us,” the department wrote on Facebook.

Deputies investigating after King County fire station hit by bullets

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire station in King County was hit by bullets Friday evening. King County Sherriff’s officials said they were dispatched to King County Fire District #45 around 10 p.m. Friday night. The fire station is on NE Cherry Valley Road, in an unincorporated area east of Duvall. A deputy told KOMO News on Saturday that firefighters reported they "had discovered damage to their building consistent with several gunshots being fired sometime earlier in the evening.

North Seattle apartment fire displaces several residents

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) is investigating a 3-story apartment fire that broke out Saturday morning. Officials said they received a call around 2 a.m. about a large fire that broke out in the 3100 block of Northeast 145th Street. Several residents have been displaced from the fire, and some residents who needed to evacuate said it was an alarming wake-up call.
