Firefighters battled a two-alarm commercial fire at a building on Wednesday evening in Seattle’s SODO area.
Crews were called to Seventh Avenue South and South Lander Street, just east of the Seattle Public Schools administration building.
A KIRO 7 photographer at the scene saw lots of smoke billowing from the building.

Stevens County Fire District 1 says crews made significant progress on the Ford Corkscrew fire Wednesday.
According to their latest update, the fire remains at 14,000 acres in size and is now 14% contained. What's even more encouraging is that they say they have the fire's perimeter 100% contained.

A man is under arrest after breaking into a home in Tacoma overnight while the family was sleeping and setting the bathroom on fire, police say.
The incident unfolded at around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday when officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of East 58th Street.
Officers responded to the home after receiving reports of a disturbance and fire.

Fire crews in Tukwila are still monitoring a fire at an apartment complex that left three dead and dozens of others displaced.
But as the last few hot spots were being put out Wednesday, some are wondering how the fire could’ve gotten so bad in the first place.
“Why didn’t this building have fire sprinklers?” Tukwila Fire Chief Jay Wittwer asked.

On Thursday, August 19, fire officials provided an update on the Lick Creek Fire located 20 miles southwest of Clarkston and Green Ridge Fire located 30 miles east of Walla Walla. According to the update, containment of the Green Ridge Fire continues to slowly improve, and the fire is now considered 29% contained.
