New Springfield (MO) Fire Station Underway

A new fire station that is expected to be completed in Spring 2022 will replace a 53-year-old fire station, reports SBJ.

The previous fire station was demolished in March and the new fire station will be located at the same property.

The project includes the construction of a combination of a wood-framed and masonry building and site improvements. The single-story, two-bay station will house three shifts of six crew members.

The fire station will be designed with a modern kitchen, dining and living room spaces, sleeping quarters, and physical fitness and laundry areas.

Residents voted to maintain the levy four times, most recently in 2017. The tax funds major capital improvements in the city.
