Spokane County crews knock down basement fire in Four Lakes

Spokane County firefighters knocked down a house fire in Four Lakes Friday morning. The fire started around 6:30 a.m. in the basement of a house on Medical Lake-Four Lakes Rd. Crews from Spokane County Fire District 3 and the Cheney Fire Department are working on checking if it’s completely out. Fire officials said there were residents inside the home at the time of the fire.

Two firefighters injured fighting large apartment fire in Spokane Valley

A large fire broke out at an apartment complex at 12200 East Maxwell Avenue in the Spokane Valley on Thursday afternoon. Fire officials say the fire started on the 3rd floor of the building, collapsing part of the roof and injuring two firefighters. The firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials say resources on Chuweah Fire are simply not enough to protect homes as blaze grows to 32,000 acres

Weather continues to be a factor as the 23,000-acre Chuweah Fire northeast of Coulee pushes further to the north and to the east toward Cache Creek Road. According to the latest report on InciWeb, fire officials remain concerned about the needed resources to protect homes and other structures. Structure protection remains in place for areas east of Shiloh Rd.

Driver Cited for Accident with South Metro Fire (CO) Fire Apparatus

An SUV driver was cited after turning into the path of a fire engine responding to a fire, reports CBS Denver.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident and the driver of the vehicle was given a citation.

Car Strikes Parked Jones County (GA) Fire Apparatus

Investigators are investigating how the driver of a car did not see the Jones County fire truck and hit the engine, reports The Jones County News.

The fire engine was set up with emergency lights activated in the slow lane of Gray Highway to alert drivers to move to the left lane and slow down because of the accident ahead.

Eyewitnesses to the accident stated that the driver never appeared to slow down or attempt to change lanes until slamming on the brakes.

All the people in the car were transported to the hospital. The other passengers in the car were a 12-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy.
