Face masks that can detect coronavirus: Harvard, MIT researchers create wearable tech

The face mask that you wear in the future could alert you of a coronavirus diagnosis, thanks to researchers at Harvard University and MIT. Researchers have created wearable biosensors that can detect the presence of the virus in a person’s breath. These button-activated masks give COVID results within 90 minutes in a simple-to-read format similar to an at-home pregnancy test.

Ogden fire damage estimated at $3.1 million after homes, businesses destroyed

VIDEOS/PHOTOS: Officials say they have multiple people they're interested in speaking with, but no suspects, after several Ogden homes and businesses were destroyed in a massive four-alarm fire. Early Tuesday, FOX 13 saw police taking a woman into custody with handcuffs. She was originally described as a person of interest by fire officials, but was eventually released.

2-alarm Vancouver house fire doused by fire crews

A 2-alarm house fire in Vancouver erupted Monday forcing crews to work by land, water and air to stop the flames from spreading to nearby homes. One neighbor near the fire on SE Evergreen Highway near Riverwood Court told KOIN 6 News boaters and jet skiers came to shore and hooked up hoses to help douse the flames.

Crews tackle brush fire near Issaquah

Crews are working to control a brush fire near Issaquah Monday afternoon. The fire happened in a wooded area between Cedar Hills and Maple Hills, just south of Issaquah. Eastside Fire and Rescue officials said the fire spread from one to two acres, and as of 6:30 p.m. the brush was over 30 acres. The fire has burned trees and thick brush.

Pasco family escapes house fire as crews combat scorching conditions

A family escaped a massive structure fire at the 700-block of N Road 56 near W Sylvester Rd on Monday afternoon. Citizens are urged to avoid the area as firefighters combat the spread of flames under excessive heat. According to Ben Shearer from the City of Pasco Fire Department, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
