Pasco County (FL) to Break Ground on Fire Station

Pasco County is breaking ground on a fire station that will be a 16,000 square foot facility including full living quarters and four bays for emergency equipment, reports Bay News 9.

The new fire station will provide quicker emergency response times and will be a hub for specialty fire services. The fire station will include a containment area where firefighters are able to rinse dangerous carcinogens off their bodies and equipment after calls, so those don’t get inside the living quarters.

Pasco Fire will construct four brand new fire stations with funds from Go For Pasco, and will also reconstruct five existing stations as well as its training facility.

Helping Protect Firefighters by Getting More Eyes on the Fire

Rochester Hills, MI – With five stations, 56 full-time personnel, and 10 part time personnel, Rochester Hills, Michigan is putting firefighter and community safety first with a purchase of 50 Bullard TXS Thermal Imaging cameras for the local Fire Department. These TXS Thermal Imagers are the newest life-saving devices from global safety company Bullard, based in Cynthiana, Kentucky.

“We’re pleased to work alongside Rochester Hills Fire Department,” says Wells Bullard, President and CEO of Bullard. “The leaders of this department are forward thinkers, ensuring the department has a thermal imager for every riding seat of their apparatus. With a thermal imaging deployment model like this, the city’s firefighters will be well prepared with the latest technology, helping them more easily find victims and more safely navigate smoke-filled environments.”

A thermal imaging camera detects infrared light to allow firefighters to see better through smoke or darkness, helping them identify victims, hot spots, doorways, and hazards. Rochester Hills Fire Department’s purchase of 50 TXS Thermal Imagers puts the latest thermal imaging technology in the hands of these firefighters. These TXS Thermal Imagers were purchased through Dinges Fire Company, a Bullard authorized distributor.

The TXS Thermal Imager is a lightweight, palm-sized thermal imager, weighing just 1.6 pounds. As the most affordable thermal imager in its class, TXS offers firefighters a clear and sharp thermal image on the camera’s 3.5-inch display and is designed to be easy to use with simple one-button operation. Bullard engineered and built TXS to be tough and durable, even in extreme fire conditions.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Adds Three New Rosenbauer Panthers

Wyoming, MN – Today, Rosenbauer America announced the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has ordered three new Rosenbauer 6×6 Panthers. These new Panther vehicles will join the existing fleet of six Panthers that have been working the front lines for the past two years at one of the world’s busiest airports.

“We are truly honored to be providing these specialized apparatus to protect the Atlanta International Airport,” said John Slawson, CEO and President of Rosenbauer America. “Receiving an order for three more Rosenbauer ARFF vehicles means we are meeting the needs of firefighters in both production and service.”

The capabilities of the Rosenbauer Panthers are second to none. These state-of-the-art firefighting vehicles pack a punch with 700 hp, reaching speeds of 70 mph combined with the ability to throw 2,100 gpm of foam more than 300 feet. These Panthers are also loaded with new safety enhancements, combined with a multitude of agents and capabilities to attack any fire. Cameras and lighting surround these vehicles, so the operator has full visibility day and night. Thermal imaging cameras identify victims and expose hidden fires for the Panthers with Stinger piercing tips to make the best strategic interior attack, all from inside the cabs.

The entire fleet is remotely monitored 24 hours a day to ensure the trucks are always operating at peak performance.

“Having a front-line of nine Rosenbauer Panthers will be a game changer for the men and women of Atlanta Fire Rescue,” said Slawson. “This will allow for more intensive training and the use of muscle memory when seconds matter.”

The three newest Panthers will be delivered in the spring of 2022. For more on the Rosenbauer Panthers at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, visit https://www.rosenbaueramerica.com/Media/youtube-videos/the-fire-truck-of-the-future-2020-i-volvo-penta-mighty-jobs
