For more than five years now, the Vail Police Department, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and the Gypsum Fire Department have worked with a national company called FirstNet to evaluate its high-speed broadband emergency communications platform.
Now other agencies can view their testimonials regarding the service and associated equipment in a series of YouTube videos produced by the company to promote its product.

Healthy, balanced meals were harder to come by for firefighters in the D.C. region until Food on the Stove came along. But starting next month, the nonprofit will beta test a new app that will pave the way for a healthier lifestyle among firehouses in Prince George’s County and beyond. Jonathan Tate founded the organization in July 2017 to help firefighters live healthier lives through nutrition and exercise.

Chief Tom Shannon, along with a group of Scottsdale firefighters and a few close friends, wanted to pay tribute to Austin Peck.
Peck was a former crew member who lost his battle with occupational cancer.

Nearly 60 years ago, 100 homes were destroyed, as three different fires simultaneously burned through multiple Staten Island neighborhoods.
On April 20, 1963, also known as Black Saturday, a total of three large brush fires began in Rossville, Tottenville, and Mariners Harbor. In their wake, the fires caused more than $2 million of property damage and left over 500 people homeless.

According to Battalion Chief Tod Kreutz, KFD was notified of a fire at 465 N Arthur St. (Tanglewood Apartments) at 6:15 pm.
The first Kennewick Fire units to arrive found smoke from a second floor apartment where they put out the fire quickly and did a primary search.
Kreutz says within minutes, they located one victim in the fire room that was unconscious and had burns.
