Wareham (MA) Firefighters Begin Training on New Brush-Breaker

Wareham (MA) Firefighters have begun training on a new, not-yet-in-service “brush-breaker” truck, reports wickedlocal.com.

The five-ton apparatus—which can carry 750 gallons of water and 25 gallons of foam—is a surplus Army vehicle and fire officials say it was provided at a “great savings” to the department.

The new truck will become Breaker 404 when it’s lettered.

Omaha (NE) Fire Department to Receive Training on Three New E-ONE Engines

Firefighters throughout the Omaha (NE) Fire Department will undergo training at Omaha Public Safety Training Center for the features and specs on three new E-ONE Engines purchased by the department, reports wowt.com.

All three were built from the ground up via specifications from by the department. Following training, the engines next week will be placed at:

• Station 3 (3126 S. 16th St.)
• Station 23 (9090 N. 30th St.)
• Station 52 (10727 Pacific St.)

St. Albans (WV) Fire Department Welcomes New Quint

The St. Albans (WV) Fire Department is welcoming a new quint to its fleet, reports wsaz.com.

The new apparatus aims to allow firefighters to reach up to 70 feet vertically and features a bucket in which three firefighters can fit.

Fire officials say it’s the first fire apparatus the city has bought since 2010 and the first aerial apparatus since 2001.

Texas fire chief calls fire at Lone Star Brewery ‘suspicious’; full investigation to follow

VIDEO: A fire at the Lone Star Brewery late Saturday night seems “suspicious,” according to San Antonio Fire Department Chief Charles Hood. The incident happened inside of the commercial brewery located at 600 Lone Star Boulevard. According to Hood, firefighters arrived at the building, saw the fire through the building’s roof and called for a second alarm.
