An Oak Harbor man died Tuesday night after crashing into a semi while speeding on a motorcycle on I-5 in Lakewood. According to Washington State Patrol, it happened about 11:45 p.m. on I-5 at New York Avenue. Troopers say 28-year-old Jacob Bullimore was driving a motorcycle, speeding and weaving in and out of lanes alongside another motorcycle that was doing the same.

The Redding Fire Department will be fully staffed year-round for the first time ever, reports KRCR.

The fire department posted to Facebook, “For the first time in Redding Fire Department history, Engine 2 at Placer Street and Buenaventura Blvd is staffed with a permanent firefighter. In the past, this station has been staffed with just a captain and engineer. A seasonal or apprentice firefighter would staff the engine during fire season only. A Council approved request from Fire Chief Vanlandingham to restructure the personnel assigned to the apprentice firefighter/ vegetation management crew allowed this monumental staffing to happen at a zero cost to the taxpayers. Station 4 and 7 will be staffed in mid-June.”

The Glen Cove Fire Department’s former fire truck received a warm welcome from the Dublin Fire Brigade, reports Patch.com.

Dublin-based collector Liam Moore already owned two pumper trucks and wanted a ladder truck to add to his collection.

The fire department posted to Facebook, “The Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department celebrated the 32 year history of Ladder 5211 and commemorated her send off to Dublin, Ireland for her next chapter of charitable and 9/11 celebratory uses. Prior to her send off Ladder 5211 received a decal in the memory of 9/11 Fire Fighter Terry Farrel. We greatly appreciate those in attendance and the many jurisdictions that assisted in the police escort of Ladder 5211 to the Port Authority for her final voyage to Dublin.”

A fire truck and vehicle were involved in an accident near the fire station, reports Fox 35 Orlando.

The crash is under investigation but the fire truck is reportedly not at fault.

A child was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

For the next few weeks, CAL FIRE flight crews from Hemet Ryan Air Base will be conducting training on the new S70i CAL FIRE Hawk.
