Wiggins (MS) will soon have a new fire aerial in service as final assembly finishes up at the factory, according to a report published by the Stone County Enterprise.
The newspaper reported the engine, which has been in the plans since 2019, could arrive by September 30. The new apparatus will have a 75-foot ladder and a pump according to the newspaper report. When it arrives, it will replace the city’s oldest engine, a 36-year-old unit called Engine No. 7.
The new apparatus, which cost about $700,000, will be called Ladder No. 10 and be stationed in Wiggins, but expected to respond to other incidents in the area, according to the newspaper.
