A new $5.8 million Kingston fire station will more than double firefighters’ space of a building that is 70 years old, reports New Hampshire Union Leader.
Work on the new 14,125-square-foot building is about a month ahead of schedule. A groundbreaking ceremony was held last weekend with local officials and representatives working on the project.
Planning started in 1995 when the town began setting aside money for a future station. The first attempt to move forward with plans came in 2018. Later, voters eventually rejected a $275,000 proposal to develop architectural plans for the site.
