Airline passenger travel is down because of the coronavirus pandemic, but industry leaders say cargo flights will become busier once a COVID-19 vaccine is developed and released. “It will be a logistical challenge that the world has not seen before,” DHL Global Forwarding CEO David Goldberg said. DHL is already discussing how they will handle transporting the vaccine.

This week, locals and visitors can expect to see and smell some smoke in Yakima County. According to the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, fire officials plan to start fires in the Naches area. Firefighters are doing what is called prescribed burning. “These prescribed fire projects reduce the amount of burnable fuels in the forest and help lower the risk of future high-intensity wildfires and related dense smoke,” said Forest Fire Management Officer Rob Allen.

A man died in a mobile home fire in Lynnwood Tuesday night in the 3800 block of 164th Street Southwest, according to South County Fire. At 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, South County Fire crews were dispatched to a fire reported at Candlewood Estates Mobile Home Park, located in the 3800th block of 164th Street Southwest.
