Seven people managed to escape a burning home in Spokane Valley unharmed.
The fire started at the home near Trent and Best Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters said that flames were shooting up to 30 feet in the air. Crews are still working to contain the fire and Spokane fire department says the fire will most likely continue throughout the night.

PHOTOS: On Tuesday, Stevens County Fire District 1 responded to a fire in an unoccupied home.
According to Stevens County Fire District 1, the fire was just south of Springdale along Highway 231.
The first units that arrived found heavy fire conditions in the attic space.
Highway 231 was shut down for around two hours while crews cleared the scene.

A 24-year-old Vancouver, WA, man who was not wearing a life jacket was rescued after 30 minutes in frigid Puget Sound waters Monday night.
The man and his brother were sailing from Blaine to Edmonds and were trying to stop in Kingston when the man fell overboard. The man’s brother was unable to rescue him due to windy conditions.

Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue (CCFR) recently partnered with the Southwest Washington Accountable Community of Health (SWACH) to establish a new pilot program in Clark County and Woodland. The Community Assistance Referral and Education Services (C.A.R.E.S.) program aims to advocate for community member needs through connection to services, education and effective use of resources for improving health in the community.

An EMS unit was robbed in Brooklyn after the suspect apparently made a bogus call to lure them to him.
The incident was reported Monday at 11 p.m. at a location at 365 Sackman Street.
Police say a 45-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, party of a voluntary ambulance squad, responded to that location for reports of a patient experiencing "difficult breathing.
