'We have never been so scared': Lynnwood couple flees from Cold Springs Wildfire

As people in Seattle are trapped inside their homes because of dangerous air quality, some families in Eastern and Central Washington are still trying to escape the biggest wildfire burning in our state—the Cold Springs/ Pearl Hill Wildfire. One Lynnwood couple was camping and got an alert to leave now—and it was mayhem from there.

Arson suspected in fire that destroyed 2 Bothell homes

Snohomish County investigators believe arson could have been the cause in a late Monday night fire that destroyed two Bothell homes. A person saw smoke coming from the 3500 block of 226th Place SE in Bothell around 9 p.m. and called for help, according to the Snohomish County Fire District 7. Firefighters arrived find flames coming from two homes under construction.

Woman Thanks Selah Firefighter and Then Steals His Wallet

VIDEO: A Selah Washington firefighter who'd been fighting fires in Thurston County was shocked when he lost his wallet at a service station. The reason for the shock was an unidentified woman thanked him for his service and then picked up his wallet and kept on walking. The theft started at a Little Rock gas station where Selah firefighter Tony Miller stopped to gas up after helping with the Mima fire in the region.

South King Fire joins local crews to help battle Oregon wildfires

Seven South King Fire and Rescue firefighters were deployed to the Oregon wildfires to assist with search and rescue operations as part of the Washington State Task Force-1 FEMA Urban Search and Rescue (WA-TF1). Wildfires began consuming thousands of acres in western Oregon about a week ago and have become some of the most destructive blazes in state history, according to Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB).

Yakama Power building a total loss after fire

A fire at the Yakama Power building south of Toppenish Saturday caused an estimated $450,000 in damages, officials report. The fire was reported at 2:52 p.m. at the company’s building on U.S. Highway 97, according to a news release from Yakima County Fire District No. 5. No one was hurt. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the rear of the building and smoke billowing out the eaves and attic vents, according to the release, and an attempt to stop the fire from spreading through the attic was not successful.
