A waterfront pier under construction in Seattle collapsed Sunday afternoon, tossing two workers into Elliott Bay and leaving them hospitalized.
Seven workers were working on Pier 58 when an alarm sounded that the pier was collapsing. Moments later two were in the water as about a fifth of the pier collapsed.

On Sunday, firefighters reported significant progress on the Sumner Grade Fire and downgraded the size of the fire. The fire has been contained by 65%. East Pierce Fire Chief Bud Backer described the week as "chaotic" and said reduced winds and higher humidity on Sunday gave them a chance to better survey the size.

Some people living near the Whitney Road Fire were allowed back home Sunday. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office downgraded evacuation orders.
Anyone forced to leave under a Level 3 order north of Highway 2 can return home. But the sheriff’s office asked that those people be ready to leave again in case the fire grows.

The Kennewick Fire Department, along with many other local fire agencies honored the life of Kennewick firefighter Steve Bailie Saturday. The memorial procession started at Kennewick Fire Station 1 just after 10:00 a.m. and proceeded through Kennewick to Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
Walla Walla County Fire District 5, the Walla Walla Fire Department, West Benton Fire Rescue, Benton County Fire District 1&2, Franklin County Fire District 3, the Richland Fire Department, and more were apart of the procession.

Snohomish County firefighters battled a fulling involved house fire at the 9200 block of Woods Creek Road in Monroe Saturday morning.
Multiple fire agencies responded to the residential structure fire just after 11 a.m. Saturday. Fire crews say the home was tucked deep in the woods with limited access and no nearby fire hydrants.
