Health officials with the Chelan-Douglas Health District reported the area’s 10th coronavirus-related death late Tuesday morning. The person was a Douglas County woman in her 50s. Local health officials continue to stress the importance of wearing a mask.
“For the health of your family, neighbors and friends, it is more critical than ever to wear a mask when in public,” the health district stated in a press release.

Chelan County Sheriff’s Office High Angle Rope Rescue, as well as Chelan County Fire District 1, aided four hikers stuck near the Chelan Falls Overlook Monday evening. The report came in around 5 p.m. that four men hiking ended up stranded on rocks at the bottom of the gorge in the river due to the water flow changing.

Firefighters are working to extinguish a fire that’s burning a large structure and multiple haystacks.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. at Sage Hill Northwest Inc. in Mesa, which is a company that exports hay and feed products. It’s located northwest of Basin City.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Monday adopted legislation sponsored by Bainbridge Township GOP Rep. Dave Joyce to ensure that families of first responders who die from or are disabled by the coronavirus get Public Safety Officers Benefit program payments for firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians who are killed or disabled in the line of duty.

VIDEO: Massive flames ripped through a farm in South Jersey overnight, killing nearly 300,000 chickens. The blaze broke out around 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Red Bird Egg Farm on the 100 block of Cemetery Road in Pilesgrove, Salem County.
Crews battled the four-alarm fire all night and remained on scene Tuesday morning putting out hot spots.
