VIDEO: A Virginia family gets closure 45 years later after their loved ones' remains have been identified and returned following the remains being found in the Kentucky River.
It was a normal training exercise for the Lexington Fire Department on October 22, 2016. Several dive teams spent the day removing vehicles from the Kentucky River off Old Tates Creek Road near Valley View Ferry.

VIDEO: When Muhammad Malkawi saw a car on fire off of 54th avenue and Interstate 5, his first thought is, of course, the driver got out, right?
He was driving a friend home that Friday night, August 16th. They took a different route than normal, a route Malkawi now feels is fate.
As he got closer, phone in hand recording what was in front of him, he saw a person struggling to get out.

Some good news for fire-weary residents of Stehekin: Evacuation levels for that community will be reduced to Level 1 effective at 6 p.m. today, meaning stay alert for danger from the nearby Pioneer Fire.
That massive wildfire has been burning since June 8, and has now consumed an estimated 38,000 acres along the far north shore of Lake Chelan.

Spokane Fire Department (SFD) investigators from the Special Investigations Unit are asking for public assistance in identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for a fire in a dumpster behind Zeibert Automotive.
The blaze, which started at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, caused damage to a nearby building at the corner of West Riverside Avenue and North Division Street.

A mulch fire burning on Detroit's west side could take days to fully extinguish, according to firefighters.
The fire at Detroit Mulch on Prairie Street near Lyndon and Livernois started Tuesday night. Crews continued to battle large flames Wednesday morning.
Heavy smoke from the fire has led to calls from areas miles away from the mulch business.
