The Department of Public Safety of Newark, N.J., is warning residents they could be prosecuted for falsely reporting coronavirus cases in the city. A fire in Granger destroyed a large shop, a boat and several cars and an RV, according to Yakima County Fire District 5. Firefighters received a report of a brush fire at 331 Nelson Rd at about 2:26 p.m. The 911 caller said numerous cars were on fire and the flames were threatening a house. The caller said there were possibly two teenage boys inside the home.

A LifeLine Ambulance was destroyed Wednesday after it caught fire on Wenatchee Avenue. The driver stopped and exited the “cabulance” about 4:56 p.m. near Fifth Street after hearing a pop and then fire quickly spread, said Chief Brian Brett, Chelan County Fire District 1. The cabulance was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

As an illness spread through a nursing home in Kirkland in late February, City Manager Kirk Triplett says that testing was a key missing factor that left officials unsatisfied as they responded to the outbreak. “Testing would have made a huge difference in the past two weeks," Triplett told KUOW. Chelan County Fire District 3 says that in response to the concerns over Covid-19, they are postponing the memorial service for Kimiko Nalle which was originally scheduled for Saturday. The ceremony will now take place Saturday, October 3rd. The Department says it is the day prior to National Fire Prevention Week and a fitting tribute to Nalle’s passion regarding fire prevention.
