A bucket of possibly — but not very — radioactive kitty litter was the culprit in a hazardous material response Tuesday night outside a Capitol Hill apartment building.
Seattle Fire responded to the report of a suspicious bucket marked as containing hazardous material outside the E Harrison building around 6:15 PM.

PHOTOS: First responders in Monroe had their hands full on Tuesday with two water rescues, and one was described by firefighters as an “incredible save.”
At 6:34 p.m., Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue crews were sent to a report of a man in a small boat heading down the furious Skykomish River near 187th Avenue Southeast and 175th Place Southeast.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Fire crews in Snohomish County rescued a woman from her car after she got stuck in the flooded Stillaguamish River Tuesday afternoon.
The North County Regional Fire Authority (NCRFA) responded to a call of a vehicle in the water near 236th Street NE and 6th Ave around 2:00 p.m.The woman drove around a road closed sign, and her car became disabled in the water, according to acting Captain Willy Harper.

VIDEO: Not only is it a first for Arizona, but the Gilbert Fire Department is among the first in the nation to get an electric fire truck.
It's been in action for about a month at the city's busiest fire station.
The goal is to see if it's safer and more efficient before potentially converting more of the fleet.
