There was a large fire at an abandoned school building early Sunday in Gary, Indiana. Firefighters worked through the night to put out a massive blaze at the old Ralph Waldo Emerson High School. Sandy Springs firefighters came up with the plan. Rappel off the top of the hospital and spread a little joy on their way down. As they lowered themselves, they stopped and waved to patients on the other side of the glass.

VIDEO: One person is recovering from smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in their apartment. According to The Spokane Fire Department (SFD), at 5:28 p.m. on Saturday, fire crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex in the 200 Block of East Nora Avenue. Multiple 911 calls reported a fire alarm going off and smoke on the third floor of the building.

A person was found dead inside a room at the Inn at Salmon Creek when firefighters were called there on Saturday. Firefighters with Clark County Fire District 6 were called to the Inn at Salmon Creek at 11901 N.E. Highway 99 in Salmon Creek shortly before 6:30 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, the firefighters found no smoke on the outside of the hotel; however, there was a fire in one of the rooms.
