VIDEO: For more than a year, the East Texas 100 Club has helped to raise money and support for the brave men and women who serve East Texas as first responders.
The money they raise plays an important part in helping to care for the families of first responders killed in the line of duty. It also helps to care for those who are seriously wounded.

Do you remember the attack of the tumbleweeds from New Year's Eve? Now fire crews are attacking back.
In an event troopers could only describe as "Tumblegeddon", hundreds (thousands?) of the balls of weed blew across SR 240 around 6:30 p.m., startling some drivers and leaving others buried under mounds that reached 20-30 feet high in spots, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A fire inside a Lakewood home left a woman dead, West Pierce firefighters said Thursday afternoon.
The fire broke out at a home on Dowerdell Lane around 1:30 p.m. Firefighters quickly got the fire under control but discovered the victim inside.
The victim is only described as an adult woman.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Two people escaped from a large house fire near Selah on Wednesday night. The home was a total loss.
The Selah Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Gore Road near Humann Lane at about 10:40 p.m. for a report that a home was fully involved in flames.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that at least 80% of the home was already destroyed.

One person has died, and another was injured in what appears to be a construction accident in Thurston County.
It happened at about 11 a.m. in the area of 16300 block of Vail Loop Rd. Southeast.
Two employees digging a trench for a power line track became trapped when the trench collapsed, said Lt.
