Deputies with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department say they arrested a man on Sunday in connection with arson of two motorhomes.
The fires happened around 8 a.m. Sunday on Atlantic Avenue in Ocosta, deputies said.
Arriving deputies said they interviewed witnesses at the scene and were able to establish a suspect who was seen in the area at the time of the fires.

Matt Tolentino’s “big idea” — or at least his latest big idea — is going to save lives.
That’s what people keep telling him anyway, not that he has much time to sit and fully ponder the life-or-death implications of his endeavor.
He’s been busy.
By day, Tolentino, a Navy veteran who previously spent 15 years in software and hardware design at Intel, is a professor of computer engineering at the University of Washington Tacoma.

Patience is wearing thin for residents impacted by the closure of US Highway 2 between Gold Bar and Skykomish. Most living in the area have been without electricity since 2 p.m. last Friday.
"On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a 10," said Baring resident Charlie Preston. "It's hell."
But some help is on the way.

Charleston Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin took steps Monday to correct the way firefighters in the city have been paid for holidays since 2012.
A $1.7 million-dollar agreement has been reached between the City of Charleston and the firefighters union.
Mayor Goodwin was joined by Myron Boggess of Charleston Professional Firefighters Local 317 to announce the agreement that addresses back-payment discrepancies.

Fort Drum’s fire department puts out a call for help. Over the past 3 years, 5 of its fire trucks have failed inspection and haven’t been replaced. With a fleet of aging apparatus, the firefighters’ union tells us it needs Washington to come to the rescue.
To fight fires, you need the right tools. On Fort Drum, those tools are becoming scarce.
