Close to 50,000 massage guns sold in the United States have been recalled due to fire and burn hazards, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday.
The recall involves Homedics' "Therapist Select Percussion Personal Massagers," which can overheat while charging. The CPSC said there have been 17 reports of the massage guns overheating, with one report of a consumer suffering a burnt thumb.

Just three days into the New Year, Seattle Fire Chief Harold Scoggins says the fire department has had a busy start to 2024 due to vacant building fires.
Two of those fires were in large vacant buildings. One was near Northgate on Tuesday and the other was on New Year's Day in Seattle's First Hill Neighborhood.

VIDEO: Firefighters battled a massive fire at the South Florida home of Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out shortly before 2 p.m. at the home in the 16000 block of Berkshire Court in a gated community in Southwest Ranches.
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed heavy smoke coming from the mansion as crews poured water onto it and firefighters cut holes into sections of the roof.

It's hard to imagine American cities without the blaring, screeching presence of ambulances, but in fact, emergency response services are a relatively new phenomenon.

VIDEO: Every winter when conditions are right, volunteers in Eagle River cut nearly 300 blocks of ice from a local lake and stack them into an ice castle. The last ice castle built was 2 years ago and time is running out for this year.
The month of December was unusually warm, which is affecting communities like Eagle River.
