Clark County man dies following mobile home fire

An elderly man died from injuries suffered in a mobile home fire Saturday in the Sunnyside area, according to the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office. The family of Leslie Freimuth, age unknown, was notified of his death, Deputy Fire Marshal Rick Searlf said Monday. Freimuth had been smoking while using an oxygen tank, Searlf said, which caused the fire.

Cashmere Fire Crews Handle Fire in Outbuilding

Crews from the Cashmere Fire Department and Chelan County District 6 in Monitor responded to reports of a structure fire on Weather End Road in Cashmere Monday Morning. Cashmere Fire Chief Cy Sousley says the fire was reported around 6:35 a.m. in an outbuilding. “On arrival, [it was discovered to be] fully involved.

Seattle homeless say illegal camp fires are necessary in winter cold

Louie Lactaoen collects firewood for his nightly fire. He knows an outdoor fire is not allowed where he’s living. For the last six months, he’s been living in a makeshift box cobblestoned from a tent, plywood and tarps in a unsanctioned camp called the Cloverleaf were Interstate 5 meets Interstate 90 in Seattle.

Vehicle flipped over in Spokane, driver walks away with minor injuries

A woman is recovering after she was involved in crash that left her hanging upside down in her SUV. Police say around 8:45 Monday morning, the driver of a white SUV crashed into a blue truck near Hogan and Springfield in Spokane. The white SUV ended up on it's roof. When fire crews arrived they found the driver of the SUV hanging by her sealtbelt.

Fire truck failure leaves North Dakota city vulnerable

The failure of the state of North Dakota's ladder truck has left Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther worried about the department's ability to fight fires and make rescues from taller buildings in Jamestown and the North Dakota State Hospital. The ladder truck is owned by the state of North Dakota under an agreement where the JFD provides fire protection to the State Hospital.
