Fire trucks are parked and ready to go as needed from the bays at Fire Station #2 for Blount County Fire Protection District. However, this is the only functional area that firefighters can use right now, since rain damaged much inside that 1950s era brick building.

The agreement, made possible under a master lease program between Roswell and the municipal association, calls for a 10-year lease term with an interest rate of 3.41 percent and an annual payment of $140,719, according to a staff report to the council. The apparatus will join the Roswell Fire Department fleet.

Members of the Watch Hill Fire Department will have a new tool, or in this case truckload of tools, this summer. The fire department this week unveiled the latest addition to the fleet, a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado that will serve as a rescue vehicle.
