Four ambulances with a blue and yellow color scheme will be added to the EMSA fleet.  

Officials said the design saves EMSA about $2,000 compared to the current red, white and blue design and also has added safety features.

Eventually, all of EMSA's ambulance and vehicle fleet in Tulsa and Oklahoma City will be updated with this new look, which is expected to take several years.

Just inside the entrance to the parking lot for the store, the ambulance was struck on its passenger side by a Nissan SUV.

The SUV sustained extensive front-end damage, while the ambulance, belonging to the company EasCare Ambulance Services, sustained damage to its passenger side.

Lee County fire fees – a $50 per structure property tax collected for large buildings such as barns or houses – and the ambulance transport fees funded the $195,902.25 ambulance. With updated technological features superior to previous models, the vehicle will serve Smiths Station citizens who invested in the new $20,000 worth of additional equipment on board. Smiths Station Mayor F.L. “Bubba” Copeland emphasized the importance of reliable medical services with technologies to solve a vast array of medical issues, but Copeland reiterated the vital role of firefighters and volunteers.

At the start of the year, Clay County officials and city officials from Keystone Heights gathered at the site of what is now Fire Station 11 in Keystone Heights to break ground. Replacing the old antiquated fire station that called downtown Keystone Heights home for over 50 years, the new Fire Station 11 sits just outside the city limits. County Commissioner Gavin Rollins, who represents Keystone Heights, said the station is a testament to the county’s commitment to public safety.

The new fire station, at 7390 State Road 21, has 10,360 square feet of space and cost $2.4 million to complete. It replaced the old Fire Station 11 that was built sometime in the 1950s or 1960s, according to Clay County Fire Chief Lorin Mock, that could house only five adults in its 900 square feet.
