New Agawam (MA) Fire Trucks To Be Blessed At Dec. 12 Ceremony

The two Pierce Enforcer engines "are a product of weeks of careful design and specification by Agawam firefighters, and months of construction at the Pierce Manufacturing plant in Appleton, Wisconsin," and will service the town for more than 20 years, according to a press release.

One will be stationed at the Main Street headquarters, and the other at Station 2 at 1200 Springfield Street. They will replace a pair of 1996 Pierce Saber engines.

4 Ontario (CA) Firefighters Injured In Crash On 15 Freeway

The injured firefighters were transported to a hospital with non-serious injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

New Fire Station Coming To Beckley (WV)

Beckley Mayor Rob Rappold said the location of the new station will be ideal for the department when it comes to the traffic on Eisenhower Drive. 

"A lot of times it's difficult to get a large fire truck out of the station in a timely basis to respond to an emergency. So our new location we think will eliminate that problem," Rappold said.

HME Delivers MiniEvo to Vermont Fire Department

The Bolton (VT) Fire Department has taken delivery of an HME Ahrens-Fox MiniEvo. Built on a Ford F-550 Chassis with a 4x4 SD Crew Cab XLT, the new vehicle features a Hale DSD 1,500-gpm pump, 300-gallon water tank, and a 15-gallon FRC direct-injection Class A Foam System. The truck is powered by a Powerstroke 6.7-liter V* engine rated at 330 hp.

Lake Whatcom rower honors firefighters for saving his life

Whatcom County Emergency Medical Services announced a recognition ceremony at Lake Whatcom for responders who saved the life of a 71-year-old with sudden cardiac arrest. 1968 Olympic rower Charles Hamlin was on Lake Whatcom this past June when he appeared to have a seizure. Off-duty firefighter Antonio Robinson was in a nearby boat when he heard calls for help.
