‘It feels like I was right next to him’: Son hears fallen FDNY dad’s heartbeat after organ donation

VIDEO: Family and friends said FDNY Firefighter Billy Moon had the biggest heart. Thursday night, his widow, two young children and parents got to hear that heart again in the chest of the man who received it. Moon died after falling 20 feet during a training exercise in Brooklyn in December 2022. His wife Kristina Moon transferred him to LiveOnNY’s Donor Care Unit at NYU Langone Health.

Small plane collides into car while making emergency landing in Texas

VIDEO: A small plane crashed into a car Saturday afternoon after making an emergency landing in McKinney, city officials said. The pilot, who flew from Midland and was trying to make the emergency landing at Aero County Airport, was unable to stop the plane at the end of the runway, officials added.

Tennessee firefighter races cars in his spare time

Ryan Griffin thinks he may be just a little bit of an adrenaline junkie. Griffin’s job as a driver engineer for the Johnson City Fire Department seems to lend itself to the idea. “Fighting fire itself is definitely an adrenaline rush,” Griffin said. “I don’t wish a fire on anybody, but if there is a fire, I want to be there putting it out.

Ephrata standoff ends with arson suspect hurt after attempt to set a person and structure on fire

An arson suspect is hospitalized after he was flushed out of a building by police during a standoff early Sunday. At approximately 01:17 AM, Ephrata Police Department rushed to an apartment at 31 Basin St SW following reports of a barricaded individual engaging in dangerous and destructive behavior.

Deputies arrest crowbar-wielding son after firefighters extinguish house fire in North Bend

The King County Sheriff’s Office partnered with Snoqualmie Police to arrest a crowbar-wielding son who got into a domestic dispute with his father in North Bend, according to the Snoqualmie Police Department. Officers say they arrived to support KCSO in the 13800 block of 436th Avenue Southeast in unincorporated North Bend following a domestic violence call around 9:20 Friday morning.
