Washougal voters face ‘instrumental’ EMS levy decision

Voters will soon determine the future of Washougal’s emergency medical services. The city of Washougal has placed Proposition 11, a replacement emergency medical services (EMS) levy, on the ballot for general election on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The proposition is “aimed at guaranteeing the ongoing provision of healthcare services in emergency scenarios for our residents,” according to the City.

Bob's Drive In supporting Sunnyside firefighters with burgers

Bob's Drive In in Sunnyside is offering a special on Friday, October 20 to support the Sunnyside Firefighters Benevolent Fund. The special features the Firehouse Burger meal which comes with bacon, pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, lettuce, pickles, onion and spicy mayo, paired with a small fry and 16 ounce drink.

Snoqualmie volunteer firefighter honored with medal of merit

Snoqualmie volunteer firefighter Robert Angrisano was honored with a medal of merit from the King County Fire Chiefs Association for his outstanding leadership that positively impacted the agency and community. Angrisano, who joined the Snoqualmie Fire Department in 2014, has been instrumental in many programs.

Fire at a Cowiche Fruit Warehouse

A structure fire on Wednesday night in Cowiche happened at a fruit warehouse. The fire broke out on the 1100 block of Livengood Road at what appears to be an apple storage facility. Multiple fire departments responded to the fire including Sunnyside, West Valley, Naches, and West Benton fire-rescue.

VIDEO: Firefighters battle large house fire in Louisiana

Firefighters with the St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 battled a massive house fire overnight. The fire broke out at a home on Allen Crawford Road near Pearl River sometime around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and was under control at about 1:00 a.m. Thursday. The fire department says everyone inside got out and was safe before the fire consumed the entire house.
