VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Willard Fire Department has been donating its old fire hoses to the Dickerson Park Zoo for a few years.
Fire hoses are required to pass a pressure test for use. If they fail, they are used for training purposes or are disposed of. The Dickerson Park Zoo asked Willard Fire if they could have the unused fire hoses and Willard Fire said yes.

VIDEO: The FDNY made a major bust earlier this week while inspecting for illegal lithium-ion batteries.
So far this year, the batteries have caused fires that have killed more than a dozen people, including four last week.
Officials told CBS New York what they uncovered this week in Chinatown was a ticking time bomb.

VIDEO: A wildfire which sparked Thursday in Stevens County quickly spread, burning 7 structures and prompting evacuation warnings for nearby residents. A statewide response was approved, with around 200 firefighters called in to help control the fire.
The fire began at around 2:30 p.m. on June 29 on Moran Creek Road, with units from Stevens County Fire District 5 responding, along with a helicopter from the Department of Natural Resources.

Fire season is here and we've already had multiple fires in the area. Those fires are keeping our firefighters from their families as they are working long hours to keep us safe. Ben Shearer from the Pasco Fire Department says it's not only stressful on them physically, but also mentally. According to the Shearer, the PFD is a big family and as a family member, they want to support each other.

When Tri-Cities fire crews were faced with thousands of acres of burning grass earlier this month they had a new tool. And it came from close to home. Local fire crews called for aerial help from the federal government to battle a 6,000-acre wildland fire. The planes were loaded with fire retardant made in Pasco.
