New Missouri law includes PTSD treatment for first responders

VIDEO: First responders can now make use of a new state law meant to help with post-traumatic stress disorder. Senate Bill 24 includes PTSD as an occupational disease when diagnosed in first responders and establishes benefits under workers' compensation. The bill states there is no physical injury required for a first responder to receive benefits.

California firefighters rescue driver from bottom of 100-foot cliff by forming a human pulley system

A body camera captured some daunting moments in a Spokane County police officer’s life a couple of weeks ago. Deputy Brittan Morgan was out advising citizens to evacuate the quickly spreading Oregon Road Fire when he got caught in the middle of it. Washington DNR provides context on understanding 'human-caused' wildfires

Sourdough Fire in the Ross National Recreation Area stagnates with cooler weather

The Sourdough fire in the Ross National Recreation area has had minimal growth with the arrival of cooler temperatures and light rain. The fire remains at 6,234 acres with 25% containment. Park officials have reopened some trails, and camps including Diablo and Gorge overlooks, East Bank, and Thunder Knob trails.
