2 Chicago firefighters injured after ‘mayday’ call at multi-alarm blaze

Two firefighters were injured after an extra-alarm fire on Chicago's West Side Saturday morning. There was a "mayday" call at 1921 S. St. Louis in North Lawndale Saturday morning around 9:30 a.m. One of the firefighters, Michael Manchester, was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital and then transported to Stroger Hospital where he is in serious condition.

Man suffered medical emergency before crashing his car in Thurston County

A man suffered a medical emergency before he crashed his car on Johnson Point Road Saturday morning, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and a fire official South Bay Fire District No. 8 later helped remove the man from his car and he was taken to an area hospital, Battalion Chief Les Robinette said.

Officials investigating 3 fires in Yakima, blame arsonist

Authorities are investigating three fires that started on Sunday morning along North 6thAvenue in Yakima. Around 6 a.m. fire crews arrived to the Mariscos El Nayarit restaurant where a fire had started in the back of the alley and spread to the attic of the restaurant. A few blocks from the restaurant, an abandoned house on the corner of North 6th Avenue and West I Street had also caught fire.
