Bayonne (NJ) Firehouse To Undergo Renovations

The fire station, which was built in 1927, will undergo two phases of rehab. During the next four months, the building will receive new windows, improved interior lighting, and repairs to the exterior masonry.

Three Sons Restoration will be the contractor for this first phase of renovations.

The second phase includes replacing the fire apparatus floor. A contractor for the second phase will be selected subsequently, officials said.

Orangeburg County buying $1M ladder truck

In order to purchase the ladder truck, the county will enter into a tax-exempt, lease-purchase municipal or government loan with PNC Equipment Finance for $213,010.41 a year over a five-year period at a 3.89 percent interest rate.

Orangeburg County Council has approved spending up to $1.6 million on the truck in case financing changes.

The West Middle Fire Department's 1976 ladder truck has been out of service for about a year and cannot be brought up to appropriate firefighting standards and regulations.

"She has done good, but her time is up," Wolfe said.

New dispatch system improves response times for Elkhart fire

Until recently, they were dispatched with an outdated system that wasn't always dependable.

At least 4 injured in Benton County crash

Multiple people were injured in a rollover crash Thursday afternoon on Badger Canyon Road. Five people were inside the vehicle. Three occupants were transported by ambulance and one more by Life Flight, according to Benton County Fire District #1. Two of them were pinned under the vehicle and had to be extracted.
