Currently, the World Trade Center Health Program is housed within the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

Spokane firefighter with legacy of protecting firefighters remembered

John Knighten is a name many Spokanites know. He was a firefighter with Spokane's Fire Department for almost two decades before a multiple myeloma cancer diagnosis ended his journey. "He was a really good firefighter, a really good F.E.O and a really good person," said Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer.

Man arrested for arson two years after N. Spokane County fire

Nearly two years after a wildfire was set intentionally in North Spokane County, officials said Tuesday they have a suspect. This is the fire that started back in August 2016. It was one of several fires burning in the Little Spokane/Rutter Parkway area of North Spokane County. It is a combination of state Department of Natural Resources land and private homes.
