Estimate: $1 Million for Apparatus Bay for Boyceville (WI) Fire Station

Spending $1 million on a new fire station will build an apparatus bay big enough to house the Boyceville Community Fire Department's existing equipment, according to the architect hired by the fire board.
Dave Cihasky of Five Bugles Design spoke to the Boyceville Community Fire District Board concerning the $1 million budget for the new fire station at the fire board’s August 16 meeting.

2 suffer minor injuries in West Seattle house fire

Two people suffered minor injuries when a fire broke out inside their home Monday morning. Firefighters were called to the 4700 block of 26th Ave SW around 4:15 a.m. when a fire was reported in the home's kitchen. Flames eventually spread to a steel storage structure in the back yard. An elderly man and woman were inside the home and made it out safely, but had to be treated for minor smoke inhalation.

Man rescued following embankment fall at former Elwha Dam site near Port Angeles

First responders from multiple Clallam jurisdictions took part in a rescue of a man who fell over an embankment at the Elwha River near Highway 112. At around 7 p.m., the man was hauled to safety using ropes, a harness and litter, according to Assistant Chief Mike DeRousie of Clallam Fire District No.

Firefighters Ready for Eclipse-Related Emergencies

Emergency management agencies throughout Kentucky are used to being storm ready--but now they're eclipse ready. First responders have spent the past several months preparing for potential threats that come with large events. Melissa Moore, with the Warren County Emergency Management Agency, says they've been trying to anticipate problems before they happen.
WKYU reported on steps first responders in the state of Kentucky are taking to be ready for today's much-anticipated eclipse. Nashville is the largest city int he path of totality and crowds are expected.

“We’re pre-staging all of our fire apparatus. We’ve talked to the police department, the sheriff’s department," said Melissa Moore of the Warren County Emergency Management Agency. "They’re going to be pre-staging people in order to reduce response times. The ambulance service is doing the same thing.”

PA Fire Chief Cited for Pulling Over Driver

Police have cited York Township's assistant fire chief, alleging he improperly used the emergency lights on his duty vehicle to pull over a driver. If found guilty, Assistant Fire Chief Scotty Bowman, 32, who lives in the township, could face a substantial fine, plus about $150 in court costs and fees.
The York Dispatch reported on the case of an assistant chief who allegedly pulled over a vehicle after the driver purportedly drove around a fire truck that was returning to a city station.
