New Facility Dedicated for Conrad Fire and BCERT (IA)

The new expanded facility allows the fire department to have offices and a large meeting room and kitchen in addition to four large bays for trucks. BECERT is completely separate from the fire department with their own bay and offices.  

Hines said the building was very much appreciated, and thanked the community for getting behind the department when it comes to fundraisers. To date the department has raised enough funds for furnishing and equipping the station, but more fundraisers are being planned in the future.

Lackawanna (NY) City Council Rejects Fire Apparatus Request

Second Ward Councilwoman Annette Iafallo summed up the city's plight Monday.  

"It would be fiscally irresponsible to vote on this right now," Iafallo said. Councilmen Kevin Surdyke and Joseph Jerge agreed, and the council voted unanimously to receive and file the correspondence.

Brazil Firefighter Steals Fire Apparatus and Sparked Terror Fears

Marques, 44, is now facing up to 20 years in prison over charges of theft and endangering lives. 

However, investigators have ruled out terrorism after he reportedly shouted over the vehicle's loud speaker tannoy: 'I will stop near Congress. I will not kill anyone. I will not run over anyone. I will not drive over anyone.' 

According to witness statements obtained by the Correio Braziliense journal the sergeant revealed to others he wanted to 'harm the Congress' and he 'intended to blow up the truck' at the seat of the legislature. Richmond (TX) Fire Department Welcomes New Fire Apparatus

Since the celebration was also a time to thank all city committees, boards, commissions and volunteers for time they dedicate, extra wipe down towels were provided for all in attendance. After speeches were made and Engine 41 was wet down, retiring Battalion Chief Thomas Walleck climbed in the driver's seat, with Mayor Evalyn Moore in the passenger seat and everyone pushed-in Engine 41 to its bay. Few, if any of the more than 50 in attendance had ever experienced such a memorable ceremony, and expressed their gratitude for being included in the tradition.

Off-duty South Pierce volunteer firefighter interrupts engagement celebration to battle fire by himself

An off duty volunteer firefighter was the first one on the scene of a blaze in downtown Eatonville Sunday night. Lucas Mayne was enjoying a perfect evening after a trip aboard the Polar Express in South Pierce County where his life changed forever. “Everything went perfectly, she said yes,” saidMayne, a resident volunteer firefighter with South Pierce Fire and Rescue, who proposed to his now fiancé, Summer Holst, aboard the train.
