The Maynard Fire Department's new aerial ladder truck, the E-One Cyclone, was officially put into service on Oct. 20, Chief Anthony Stowers said in a press release.In August 2016, the department received a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for $750,000.
The new truck, manufactured by E-One in Florida, and purchased through Greenwood Emergency Vehicles in North Attleboro, came with a price tag of $1,016,000.
Voters approved the additional funds at the Jan. 9 special Town Meeting, authorizing the transfer of $266,567 from the town’s Capital Stabilization fund.
