Police: Man steals Illinois fire truck and drives it into Mississippi River bank

VIDEO- Around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22nd, emergency crews responded to reports of a fire truck that had crashed into the river bank. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a man stole an East Moline fire truck, crashed it into the bank of the Mississippi River, and then jumped into the river "and tried to elude officers," said East Moline Police Captain Tom Reagan.

Battle Ground Public Schools received a new Automated External Defibrillator thanks to a donation from Clark County Fire District 3 and American Medical Response. The lightweight, portable device delivers an electric shock that can potentially stop an irregular heartbeat and allow a normal rhythm to resume following sudden cardiac arrest.

Battle Ground crash results in fire and downed power pole

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a collision and fire in Battle Ground that downed a power pole and snapped lines. Emergency crews responded to a call at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday at 21100 N.E. 167th Ave. in Battle Ground, according to reports from the sheriff’s office and Clark County Fire District 3.

4 homes destroyed in Thurston County brush fire near Grand Mound

Authorities say a brush fire south of Olympia in the Grand Mound area burned a half a dozen structures and a business before the fire was contained and evacuation orders remained lifted Wednesday morning. Thurston County Emergency Management officials said the fire, which started near 183rd Avenue Southwest between Guava Street and Case Road started and grew quickly near Interstate 5 Tuesday afternoon.
